Frequently Asked Questions

What is MAQS?

  • MAQS “Manufacturing Audit & Quality System” – is designed to streamline quality inspections and enhance communication between production, quality assurance, purchasing and management teams.

What are the primary benefits of using MAQS?

  • MAQS saves time, reduces warranty and liability costs, and identifies recurring issues. MAQS improves communication, provides real-time updates and can control the quality process ensuring no vehicle leaves the facility until it is 100 complete and all necessary checks have been performed.
  • MAQS automates daily production reports and tracking of the status of all vehicles in production.  It can automate tracking of parts shortages and damaged materials.

What hardware is needed to use MAQS?

  • Android tablets are required for inspectors to use the MAQS software and strong Wi-Fi in the plant – as all tablets are constantly communicating to the MAS servers and each other. The Wi-Fi does not need to be on an internal network, operating via a DMZ network is preferred.
  • Revecorp can provide economical Samsun tablets and other required hardware to get a facility operational quickly.

Is MAQS cloud-based?

  • Yes, MAQS is a cloud-based system, which means it can be accessed from any browser with an internet connection.
  • Setup is fast, remote and does not require IT resources (other than strong Wi-Fi in the plant).

How does MAQS improve the inspection process?

  • MAQS allows inspections to be defined in detailed inspection templates, and tracks defects and remedies applied.
  • MAQS tracks parts shortages and communicates with purchasing to coordinate parts issues.

Can inspection templates be customized?

  • Yes, users can define the items which are inspected at each point in the manufacturing process. This includes directions for how to perform the inspections, collection of comments via voice-to-text, pictures and/or video and comparison to exact standards.
  • The inspections can be changed at any time and the changes are implemented instantly, automatically, without any need for updating the software.

What types of reports does MAQS generate?

  • MAQS generates automated production reports, reports of the Serial Numbers of installed components, compliance required testing reports such as National Electrical Code, National Fire Code, Department of Transportation inspections, Federal Motor Vehicle Safet Standards, etc.

Can inspections be paused and resumed?

  • Yes, inspections can be paused and continued by another inspector, on another tablet offering flexibility in the inspection process.

How does MAQS handle tracking failures?

  • When an item fails, MAQS can require comments, pictures, or videos to document the failures.
  • MAQS can automatically assign a failure to the appropriate staff (e.g. electrician) for repair.
  • MAQS can require a quality control inspector to review and approve repairs before they are accepted.

Is MAQS Multilingual?

  • Yes, MAQS can display all prompts to the user in one of seven languages (other languages available on request).  A user can speak in comments in their native language, and the system can translate the comments into English and store them in English.  Users can change languages on the fly and also be assigned different default languages.

Does MAQS support RFID critical component or assembly tagging for tracking?

  • Yes, MAQS can track individual parts which have RFID tags installed during production so that components manufactured in different facilities which are assembled together can have their quality control history related.

Can MAQS send notifications to staff?

  • MAQS has an efficient notification system that can automatically route data to staff for specific reasons, such as completed damaged materials reports.

Can MAQS take final pictures of assembled products?

  • MAQS360 is an “End of Line” photo system which can include up to 16 cameras to take pictures around a final product in “as completed” status.  This is useful, for  instance, for documenting the final status of a vehicle before it is shipped.

Can MAQS provide monitoring of facility conditions?

  • MAQS Monitor provides monitoring of conditions in a production facility where ambient conditions such as temperature and humidity are critical.  The system has high and low limits and can notify a group of staff when conditions are not in compliance.
